Powering The Chapter Together

Powering the Chapter Together:
Why Volunteering is Where the Fun Begins!
As we head into another great season here in the Puget Sound Region, one thing is undeniable – this Chapter runs on energy, enthusiasm, and people who raise their hand to make things happen. Not just those who show up (which we love), but those who jump in and help create the experience. That’s where the real magic happens.
Every driving tour, HPDE weekend, car control clinic, social meet-up, and tech session starts with a simple idea. But what turns that idea into something memorable? Volunteers. They’re the ones coordinating, organizing, welcoming, guiding - and often making sure everything runs smoother than a perfectly dialed inline-six. They’re the reason events feel less like “activities” and more like a true community.
And here’s the part that often gets overlooked: volunteering isn’t just about giving time; it’s about getting more out of your membership. You move from being on the sidelines to being part of the action. You meet more people, build stronger connections, and get a behind-the-scenes view of how everything comes together. It’s more engaging, more rewarding, and frankly, more fun.
From the Board’s perspective, volunteer engagement is a major focus – not so much because we need additional help, but because it makes everything better. More volunteers mean more creative events, more variety, and more opportunities for members to connect. Whether you’ve got an hour to help at check-in or an idea for a brand-new event, there’s a place for you.
And speaking of ideas, we want them. Some of our best events started with a simple “what if…” from a member. A new drive route, a unique venue, a different kind of social gathering. This Chapter is at its best when members bring fresh thinking to the table. If you’ve got something in mind, don’t keep it to yourself. Let’s build it together.
New: Volunteer Tab + Points = Real Rewards
We’ve made it easier than ever to get involved. Head to the new “Volunteer” tab on our Chapter website, where you can see upcoming events, available roles, and exactly where help is needed. It’s simple: pick an event, select a role, and sign up.
Here’s where it gets even better: every time you volunteer, you earn points. The more you participate, the more you earn. Throughout the year, those points add up toward something pretty special - a grand prize trip to the BMW M Performance Center in Thermal, California, where you’ll experience BMW performance driving the way it was meant to be!
You’ll also continue to see our Volunteer Recognition Program evolve. This is our way of saying thank you and making sure the effort people put in doesn’t go unnoticed. From points to rewards to year-end recognition, we’re building a culture where participation is visible, appreciated, and celebrated.
At the end of the day, the formula is simple: more involvement = more fun, better events, and a stronger community.
Family Engagement: Volunteer Together
We also encourage members to bring the next generation into the experience. If you have younger family members, consider pairing up and volunteering together at events. It’s a great way to share your passion for the brand, spend quality time, and introduce them to the community in a meaningful way. From helping with event setup to greeting members, there are plenty of roles where families can participate side by side and build memories while contributing to the Chapter.
So, if you’ve been enjoying the events, consider this your invitation to take it up a notch. Sign up, step in, and see what it’s like on the inside. Whether it’s your first time helping or you’re ready to lead something new, you’ll find it’s one of the best ways to experience the Chapter.
On behalf of the Board, thank you to everyone already making this happen. And if you’ve been thinking about getting involved, now’s the time. Let’s keep building something great together.
