BMW M CEO Franciscus van Meel, Sylvia Neubauer, Vice President of Customer, Brand, Sales at BMW M GmbH, Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President of BMW Group Design, and Björn Lellmann, Head of Customer Racing at BMW M Motorsport, congratulated the winners on-site and provided insights into upcoming customer racing highlights. These include the new BMW M4 GT3 EVO, BMW M4 GT4 EVO, and BMW M2 Racing cars, as well as the new BMW M Racing Academy program.

Franciscus van Meel said: “Honoring our most successful private teams and drivers is always a special event for us at the end of the year. The BMW M Motorsport teams and drivers are the best ambassadors for BMW and BMW M on racetracks worldwide. Their global successes with our race cars are thrilling and underscore that motorsport is part of our DNA. The fact that the BMW M Sports Trophy was held for the 62nd time this year shows how important this tradition is to us. It's a tradition with a bright future, featuring new cars from the entry-level to the GT3 class and a new talent promotion program. A big thank you to all BMW M Motorsport teams, drivers, and congratulations to this year's winners, especially Turner Motorsport and Justin Rothberg.”

Sylvia Neubauer added: “Private racing teams and drivers are among the most important customers for BMW M. They not only provide fantastic feedback on our products but also regularly demonstrate the performance of our cars on the racetrack. Thank you for representing our brand so excellently. Today we conclude a successful season together, and at the same time, we look forward to future highlights. Our new entry-level model, the BMW M2 Racing, will debut in 2026. Affordability is a focus in its development, as our goal is to make motorsport accessible to as wide an audience as possible. The highest technological level and reliability are a given at BMW M Motorsport, ensuring great value for money with the BMW M2 Racing. But it's not just the cars; it's especially the people who make up motorsport. At the new BMW M Racing Academy, they are the focus, and this talent promotion program is a fantastic new aspect that we offer our customers.”

During the BMW M Sports Trophy, private teams and drivers accumulate points in their respective racing series for the final classification. Turner Motorsport from North America secured the team ranking for the second consecutive year, marking a special year as Will Turner’s team completed its 557th race in a BMW car in May – more than any other BMW M Motorsport customer team. Thanks to strong results with the BMW M4 GT3 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the Fanatec GT World Challenge America, and GT America, as well as with the BMW M4 GT4 in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, Turner Motorsport prevailed with 1,531 points. FK Performance Motorsport and Schubert Motorsport followed in second and third places, respectively.

In the driver's ranking, Justin Rothberg triumphed with 914 points, crowning his season with Turner Motorsport as the Pro-Am Champion in the Fanatec GT World Challenge America and achieving victories with the BMW M4 GT3 in GT America. Maxime Oosten (NED) took second place in the driver's ranking, having been successful in the ADAC GT Masters and GT World Challenge Asia. Darren Leung (GBR) finished third, concluding the season as the champion in the Bronze Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe.

Björn Lellmann said: “We look back on a fantastic racing season 2024 – congratulations to all successful BMW M Motorsport teams and drivers and to the winners of tonight's event. Today we not only honor the best participants in the BMW M Sports Trophy but also celebrate many titles that our teams and drivers have won with BMW M race cars in various championships. These include the DTM, the IMSA series, the GT World Challenges Europe and America, the Italian GT Championship, TC America, and the ESET Cup Series. Also, the NLS, where Adrenalin Motorsport celebrated its seventh consecutive overall victory this year – a performance second to none! We are also very proud to offer the BMW M Racing Academy, a new, exclusive talent promotion program that further enhances our commitment to customer racing. This is another building block for a successful racing season 2025.”
