BMW Club members are fortunate to have access to the chapter’s own High Performance Driving Education events. This is the most cost-effective way to try HPDE and the only way to really drive your BMW the way it was intended without getting a ticket.

The chapter has been doing these events for 50 years. The events are safe, fun and approachable.

One of our chapter members, and board members, is Stefan Yotz. If that name seems familiar, Stefan is known online as BMW DIY GUY, and has a popular YouTube channel. Stefan has a second generation M2 that he is in the process of modifying, while sharing the process with his followers.

While Stefan has been modifying his cars for years, recently he decided to ‘work on the driver.’ He participated in a chapter HPDE in August 2024. His instructor was yours truly, Zundfolge Editor-in-Chief, David Lightfoot.

Stefan used microphones and cameras throughout his novice experience. The result is two videos Stefan is sharing that you may enjoy, just to see what it is really like and whether you might want to join the fun in 2025.

The first video is Stefan driving with David in the right seat doing the instructing: https://youtu.be/_0KX5T7YTsA
